Neath Railway Station at risk of being downgraded as a mainline station
A proposed plan to By-Pass Neath with trains crossing the river by the Swing Bridge built for the Rhondda Swansea Bay railway in the late 1800s.
There is a new railway station in the pipeline for Jersey Marine which will serve Swansea University Campus before terminating at Swansea.
Railways have changed over time, when Briton Ferry had 3 railway stations, Neath 4 and Swansea 7.
Plans are that railway stations at Briton Ferry or Port Talbot will be for local metro trains to run passengers to Neath and Skewen.
Neath residents believe the downgrading of our main line station will be a great loss for Neath Town.
